Our expertise

The steps

The sawmill

After a rigorous selection, the logs are transformed, constantly seeking to optimise the material to create a variety of products such as boules, selected boards, square edge, beams and landscape sleepers.

Here are the different steps we follow to offer you a complete range of high quality products.

Supply / Purchase

The logs are carefully selected by our buyers. They mainly come from local forests. Our management system ensures complete traceability of the wood from the moment it is felled. We make our purchases from the National Forestry Office, but also from forestry experts and private owners.

Our supplies are made in the Côte d’Or department (21) and extend to neighbouring departments, including Aube (10), Yonne (89) , Haute-Marne (52) and Haute-Saône (70). This diversity of territories allows us to meet our requirements in terms of volumes and qualities

Log Yard

The log yard ensures a continuous flow of raw materials adapted to production needs:
Reception and sorting: The logs arrive and are classified by type and quality.
Storage: The logs are stored by quality and length.
Conservation: The logs are watered from spring to autumn.
Maintenance and Safety: The yard is regularly maintained and safety standards are strictly applied to protect personnel and external workers.

Sawing / Edging

Our sawyers and edgers are tasked with optimising the material in terms of both quality and quantity while maintaining good productivity. In addition to their specific technical knowledge of wood, they are assisted by innovative digital decision making tools. They guarantee precise sawing, ensuring production of the correct size and straightness.

Storage / Drying

All our quality woods are stored on profiled slats and are covered in order to protect the first boards.

The drying process of our sawn timber is carried out in the following way:
  • Outdoors: between 6 and 12 months in order to naturally wash the wood of its tannin.
  • In warehouse: 6 months or more depending on the thickness, to stabilise the humidity of the wood before artificial drying.
  • In dryers: artificial drying allows the air humidity and temperature to be controlled in order to dry the wood uniformly and quickly. Thus, these products can be implemented in an indoor environment.

Throughout this process, the wood is regularly monitored to control its humidity level and its quality, with adjustments if necessary to ensure compliance with the specifications required for future use.

Reception

Assisted by handling robots, operators carry out the measuring and classification of the sawn timber after drying.
We invite our clients to come and check their orders before shipping in order to select the products that best meet their needs.

Commercial and administrative monitoring

Behind each operation lies a set of administrative procedures that govern all stages from order taking to invoicing.

Efficient management of these administrative aspects is essential for maintaining the fluidity and precision of the production and distribution processes in our company.
